In late February, our school organized a supermarket visit for the Pre-Nursery class. During this activity, teachers guided the children in identifying ingredient characteristics, discussing how to choose healthy foods, and encouraging them to try new items while selecting fruits and observing food packaging.
The children also learned basic social etiquette, including how to queue, make payments, and greet store staff. After returning to school, they sorted the purchased ingredients by color and explored food processing through hands-on comparisons, such as raw versus cooked pasta.
This real-world scenario-based activity aimed to enhance their understanding of nutrition while developing essential social skills for daily life.
