我從擔任教師、課程總主任及至現在校長的工作，不同的工作經驗讓我體會到教學精神的真義。一名成功的教育工作者，必須不斷作自我評估，了解自己的優點和缺點，尋求自我成長的道路；同時亦必須明白教學對象的需要，知道如何扮演教育的角色。 在學校工作上，我先要擔任一個思考者，在面對不同事情時需要運用各種思考技能來辨識和處理問題。作為領導者，每件事情也需要經過慎重思考來判斷及作出合理決定，還要具備良好的溝通能力，與各持份者開放溝通。我要成為一個懂得思考的領導者，帶領我們的團隊，邁向更專業的領域。

我深信與孩子相處的時間，重質不重量，且是孩子成長過程中重要的一部分。我希望與學校持份者保持緊密聯繫，和諧工作。讓我們擕手合作，相互支持，令孩子愉快生活。

I’m Laura Mannering and I come from picturesque Nova Scotia, Canada. I have been an early years teacher for many years. First graduating from Dalhousie University with a degree in Classical Literature, and then completing my teaching qualification at The University of Hong Kong. As a passionate and open-minded IB PYP teacher I believe education should be fun, playful, and limitless. I enjoy the challenges of teaching and reflecting on my practice so I’m always growing in my profession. My students and colleagues inspire me every day and give me confidence to take risks and brave new challenges. Before coming to Hong Kong I worked on the beautiful island of Jeju, in South Korea. I look forward to sharing my experience and creativity with everyone here at Victoria Middle Kornhill.
